ITT Flygt Provides Relief to Tsunami Survivors

The impact of the tsunami disaster is an unimaginable human suffering and material devastation. The contributions from nations, individuals and business communities to the victims of tsunami have been extensive.

ITT Flygt has donated 40 pumps with equipment as an immediate aid to the tsunami victims in Maldives. The company also sent expertise to support the installation of the equipment. The pumps are now used to purify saltwater contaminated water reservoirs.

ITT Flygt is a business unit within ITT Industries Fluid Technology. ITT Flygt is - jointly with the other units of Fluid Technology - contributing to guarantee the daily water needs of more than 800 000 people in the island country of Sri Lanka. Expertise from ITT is also working at the site of the disaster area.

In addition to addressing to the water safety, ITT Flygt has also donated 500 000 SEK to the Red Cross and ITT Industries 500 000 USD to global relief agencies to support the huge relief effort in South-East Asia and East Africa.
