ISO Accreditation for Hidrostal

30.03.2009

The team at Hidrostal Ltd, Newbury has much to celebrate. During February 2009 they were re-certified to the prestigious, internationally recognised standards ISO 9001 2008 & ISO 14001 2004; a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) certification carried out by SGS.

They were first awarded ISO 9001, the Quality Management Standard in 1999 and have continued to develop quality management systems to meet the business need, in a spirit of continual improvement. They have now been awarded the latest version of the standard, which was only released at the very end of 2008.

Hidrostal is fully committed to environmental improvement and pollution prevention. Indeed, Hidrostal products are often selected for inclusion in environmental improvement projects. As testament to this commitment they became accredited to ISO 14001, the environmental management standard in 2003 and have now been re-certified to the latest version for a further three year period.

The system is looked after by a small internal Quality & Environmental Management (QEM) Team and professional consultancy is provided by CQES Consultant Quality & Environmental Solutions Ltd.

Robert Williams, Hidrostal’s Operations Director:

“At Hidrostal, we are strong believers in the external validation of our products, services and management systems. As well as being very important to the business environment in which we work, it recognises the way the company operates as a whole. By obtaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification with SGS we are proud to be known for effective quality procedures and sound environmental performance. To have achieved 9001 to the new 2008 standard so soon after it was released is a credit to the commitment and dedication of all our staff and in particular the QEM team. Both standards will ensure that we have consistency to continue to grow and develop in what is a challenging and competitive business environment.”

The certification in the UK supports similar certification held by Hidrostal AG in Switzerland.
