ISH China – China International Trade Fair for Sanitation, Heating & Air-conditioning 24-27 September 2002 in Beijing

30.09.2002

As ISH China 2002 closed its doors, exhibitors and visitors were left smiling, pleased with the brisk and professional atmosphere of the show, and concluding that business is very promising in Beijing.

A record-breaking 13,185 visitors were registered at the door, an encouraging 40% increase in attendance from the previous show in 2000. The bulk of the visitors were from China, but almost 500 visitors came from overseas to participate as well.

The organisers, Messe Frankfurt and CIEC Exhibition Co. had a much larger display on offer than in previous years. Net exhibition space at the show was up 35% on 2000, while exhibitors numbers were up 24% to 220. Over 40% of all exhibitors were overseas (19 countries), including a national pavilion from Germany with 24 companies.

"The success of ISH China 2002 clearly illustrates the necessity for a professional marketing platform in Beijing for the heating, sanitation and air-conditioning sectors," stated Betty Heywood, general manager for Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong. "Our accomplishment here reflects the rapid development of China's construction industry and growing demand for quality building products."

Mr. Andreas Lücke, Secretary General of the Association of European Heating Industry (EHI) agreed. "This fair has been an unequivocal success," he said at the close of the show. "For the European heating industry, ISH China has established itself firmly as the leading event in China."

A full report on ISH China will be available from 2 October 2002.

The next global ISH brand trade show, ISH North America, is scheduled for Toronto, October 31 - November 2, 2002.
