IER Services to Host Pump Systems and Variable Frequency Drives Optimization Course to Assist Customers in Identifying Opportunities for Greatest Pump Improvements

22.03.2016

Industrial Electromechanical Repair Services (IER), in conjunction with WEG Electric Corporation, will conduct a full-day Pump Systems Optimization (PSO) course with the Hydraulic Institute (HI) on April 15, 2016 in Columbus, Ohio.

As pump inefficiencies can drain corporate profits through higher energy and maintenance costs and shortened mean time between repairs, a growing need exists among pump and motor repair companies to better understand opportunities for pump systems optimization. The PSO course, developed by HI, meets IER Services strategic plans to assist customers in operating their systems more efficiently by conducting pump system assessments that identify problematic areas where the greatest opportunities for improvement exist.

Mark Sullivan, Director, Education and Marketing, Hydraulic Institute, states, “By attending the PSO course, IER customers will gain valuable new skills to improve centrifugal pump systems efficiency and reduce energy and operating cost across all industrial and commercial sectors. Working with IER in a joint partnership, we can help pump users identify more pump system assessment opportunities in improving life-cycle costs.”

Designed for maintenance, operations, engineering and management personnel, the PSO course takes a product-neutral approach to technical training on pumps and pumping systems with qualified subject matter experts who share their many years of experience. William C. Livoti, of WEG Electric and a HI certified PSO instructor, will teach this upcoming PSO course. The course will be held at Hollywood Casino from 8 AM to 4 PM ET. Upon course completion, all participants will earn seven professional development hours.

HERMETIC-Pumpen: Canned Motor Pump Technology has Multiple Advantages

01.02.2023 -

Using canned motor technology for submersible pumps provides significant advantages. A short shaft, only two slide bearings – independent from the immersion depth – and various monitoring functions not only ensure high reliability but also mean cost advantages for the operator. Since it is supplied as a lock pump, easy servicing is guaranteed at the same time.
