18.10.2010

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has become the 32nd industry organization to endorse the AHR Expo, the world’s leading HVACR-exclusive trade show.

With offices in 11 states and seven countries, the 5,000-member organization is recognized around the world for the development of its Uniform Codes (www.iapmo.org). IAPMO develops and publishes the Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC); Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC); Uniform Solar Energy Code; Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement; and the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code.

In support of these publications, IAPMO works with governmental jurisdictions, professional plumbing contractors, labor forces, and manufacturers to produce product standards, technical manuals, personnel certification educational programs and additional resource publications to meet the ever-evolving demands of the industry as well as the health and safety needs of the public.

"We are delighted to become an Endorsing Association of AHR Expo," said Russ Chaney, IAPMO CEO. "Our presence at the world’s largest HVACR event will provide us with an opportunity to engage with our various global audiences about industry codes and standards.”

Clay Stevens, President of International Exposition Company, which produces and manages the AHR EXPO, said IAPMO’s involvement provides the growing number of plumbing professionals and other AHR Expo attendees with critical information they need. “Our 32 Endorsing Associations serve as valuable resources to a broad cross section of the HVACR industry and the thousands of professionals who attend AHR Expo every year.”

The 2011 AHR Expo will take place January 31– February 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center and will feature more than 1,800 exhibitors from around the world showcasing hundreds and hundreds of innovative new products to over 45,000 attendees and exhibitor personnel. The 2011 AHR Expo is endorsed by 32 leading HVAC/R industry associations and is co-sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). The Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is an honorary sponsor. ASHRAE s winter meeting is held concurrently with the AHR Expo each year.
