Hydraulic Institute Announces New Standards Partner Relationship
The Hydraulic Institute today announced plans to offer a new opportunity for engineering consultants and pump users to participate as "Standards Partners" with the beginning of this year.
Since 1917, the Hydraulic Institute has worked as the largest association of pump industry manufacturers in North America. North American corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships and government agencies that are engineering firms, provide engineering services, or are end-users of pumps are eligible to receive a valuable package of HI products and services.
The Institute is pleased to announce that Mechanical Solutions, Inc., a 25-person engineering research and consulting firm active in the pump compressor and turbine industries, is the first company to become an HI Standards Partner. The company performs analysis, testing, and troubleshooting services for OEMs and end-users.

"Through participation in the standard development discussion process, middle management and senior staff are able to contribute while being able to network with the engineers and CEOs who are the movers and shakers of the industry. To be a "Standards Partner," organizations or individuals must establish that they provide pump and pumping system engineering, process or facility design, procurement, project management, construction services, hydraulic or mechanical modeling, analytical methods, or laboratory or field-testing to a facility owner, government, or vendor, or that they are an end-user of pumps.
After verification, eligible parties can receive, for an annual fee, benefits such as copies of the latest HI standards on CD-ROM and subsequent updates, HI's "Pump Life Cycle Costs"and "Variable Speed Pumping" guides, access to HI's "Fundamentals of Centrifugal Pumps" e-learning course, listings on the HI website and online in the HI Consultant's Directory, as well as opportunities to participate in HI committee meetings and review standards before publication.
