HMS Group to Produce Pumping Equipment for Baltic Nuclear Plant

Hydromashservice associated trade company of HMS Group signed an agreement with Nizhny Novgorod engineering company “Atomenergoproekt” for production and delivery of large run of pumps for Baltic nuclear power plant (NPP).

The pumping equipment, including more than 40 items of units of AZNSA, AZNA, SE, AD, NMSH, APEA and KsVA types will be produced on two of HMS Group subsidiaries- Nasosenergomash and HMS Pumps. The units are designed for 1st and 2d generating units of Baltic NPP.

The Baltic NPP is being constructed in Kaliningrad region of Russia. The NPP will comprise two generating units with total capacity of 2.3 GW. Baltic NPP construction project meets all the international safety requirements and, according to the experts, after the startup it will become one of the safest NPP in the world. The startup is scheduled for 2016.

HMS Group`s subsidiaries have a long term experience in development and delivery of equipment for nuclear power industry. For the past few years the Group has delivered different types of pumping equipment for a number of Russian power plants, including Rostov and Leningrad power stations.
