Hawk Appoints Michael Corkran President of Its Powder Metal Group

CLEVELAND, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Hawk Corporation (NYSE: HWK) announced today the appointment of Michael Corkran as President of its Powder Metal Group.

The Hawk Powder Metal Group ("HPMG") has six operating facilities in

Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Illinois. In his new role, Mike will establish

a new headquarters for the HPMG operation in Solon, Ohio at the Company's

recently acquired Metal Injection Molding facility.

in manufacturing engineered products and growth through international

Most recently, Mr. Corkran was the President of North America and Asia for

RELTEC Corporation, a manufacturer of telecommunication equipment. He began

his career with Reliance Electric and held a series of progressively

responsible management positions at Reliance.

Corkran holds a B.A. in economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A.

from the University of Rochester.
