Greater operating reliability, lower power consumption

Increased production at Jenapharm GmbH made it necessary to increase the capacity of the technological cooling circuit.

Moreover, it was necessary to make sure that the pressure at the single users remained constant even in the presence of highly fluctuating operating conditions.

In addition, though the new and more powerful 11 kW pumps guaranteed much higher performances, maintenance on the E-MSR system had to be kept to a minimum.

In its offer to Jenapharm GmbH, Pumpen-Schulze of Weimar, in collaboration with Lowara Deutschland GmbH, which had provided for the use of two LMR series in-line pumps, each coupled to an HYDROVAR® frequency converter, came up with a solution capable of meeting all the customer's requirements at the most advantageous price.

Integrated frequency adjustment based on pressure demand ensures constant operating conditions regardless of the current requirements of the connected technological users.

The soft start function, with freely programmable acceleration times, obviates the need for a delta-star connection even when more powerful motors are used.

The HYDROVAR® frequency regulators, which can easily be mounted on any IEC three-phase motor, feature all the necessary functions for motor adjustment, operation and protection. The customer’s responsibility is limited to complying with the local safety regulations.

The parallel connection of the two HYDROVAR® devices was made using a standard RS 485 interface; there was no need for any additional external control units. This solution ensures 100% redundancy and pump activation/deactivation based on demand.

Despite the higher pump performances, energy consumption is reduced while the operating reliability of the entire system is improved.
