Flowserve Pump Division Publishes New HPX Hydrocarbon Processing Pump Bulletin

01.04.2003

Flowserve Pump Division has published a new full-color, 8-page bulletin that describes its HPX Hydrocarbon Processing Pump.

Fully compliant with API 610, latest edition design criteria, the HPX provides the most comprehensive range of hydraulic coverage available to the industry with its unique design and its unequaled versatility, reliability and safety.

According to the brochure, the HPX Hydrocarbon Processing Pump is designed with the API 682 seal chamber, which provides the most stringent emissions containment. This seal chamber accommodates all combinations of seal models and styles including advanced gas barrier seal technology.

The bulletin also notes that the HPX pump features a horizontal, end suction – top discharge, overhung, centerline mounted configuration. The literature points out that the pump is designed with a back pull-out of the rotating assembly which simplifies maintenance as neither the motor nor piping connections are disturbed.

Other unique features of the HPX included in the brochure are:

  • A guide vane in the suction nozzle which preserves available NPSHA

while reducing vortexing and assuring uniform flow to the pump inlet

  • A dynamically balanced impeller that limits vibration and assures

smooth operation over a wide flow range

  • Renewable wear rings for both the casing and impeller for lower

    replacement part costs
