Expansion Signals Dedication to Piston Pump Manufacturing; New Addition to Otsego Facility Reinforces Parker´s World-Class Image
OTSEGO, Mich., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The recent expansion of Parker Hannifin's Pump/Motor Division's Otsego facility signals a renewed dedication to the hydraulic piston pump manufacturing segment.
"Our new addition includes a performance and endurance testing laboratory, quality assurance lab and customer reception and conference area," said Paul Brewer, operations manager at the facility. Our upgraded facility is the final piece in reaching our objective of being a world-class manufacturer of hydraulic piston pumps. Our new testing facility will expand our capabilities and assure that Parker piston pumps remain as the most reliable products available."
The original structure, which was built in 1968, has undergone two previous expansions. The new addition brings the total square footage to more than 100,000 square feet of manufacturing, R & D and administrative space.
During the last six months, the entire facility has undergone a facelift with new paint, wallpaper and furnishings. The Otsego facility is part of Parker's Hydraulic Pump/Motor Division, headquartered out of Greeneville, Tenn. The division's hydraulic piston pump line is manufactured in Otsego, while hydraulic power units are manufactured in Martin, MI, and hydraulic motors and steering units are manufactured at the Greeneville facility. The division is known for its ability to rush product to customers with "just in time" delivery.
