Energy-efficiency Focused Educational Sessions & Products Will Take Center Stage at 2014 AHR Expo

With nearly three-dozen educational sessions and hundreds of new product solutions focused on achieving greater energy-efficiency, the 2014 AHR Expo will serve as the HVACR industry’s ‘Sustainability Central’, January 21-23, in New York City.

According to AHR Expo Show Management, nearly one third of the more than 100 educational sessions being offered by ASHRAE and AHR Expo during the Show will be focused specifically on achieving greater energy efficiency and sustainability. Ranging from seminars on such broad-based topics as “Effective Energy Management in New and Existing Buildings” to more specific topics like “Data Center Energy Efficiency”, these sessions are designed to help attendees save money on energy costs and achieve better operating performance.

Many of these educational sessions will be offered free-of-charge, including ASHRAE’s “Trends in Building Energy Disclosure: Increasing Energy Efficiency without Retrofits,” and “Building a Better Benchmark: Lessons from New York City’s Local Law 84 Energy Disclosure Data.” Several of the nearly three-dozen sessions will feature energy-efficiency experts from the New York Area speaking about governmental regulations and initiatives emanating from the East coast.

At the end of 2012, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order mandating a 20 percent increase in energy-efficiency in state buildings by 2020. This announcement coincided with the launch of Build Smart NY – a strategic plan to implement the Governor’s order over the next seven years. New Jersey and Connecticut also have robust energy management initiatives in place. The AHR Expo sessions will, undoubtedly, be of help to HVAC professionals in the Tri-state area and beyond who are tasked with implementing these state government initiatives.

In addition to the insightful educational sessions, hundreds of new products and solutions dedicated to helping consulting engineers, contractors, building owners and designers achieve greater energy-efficiency will be featured on the Show floor by many of the nearly 2,000 exhibitors from around the world. Several exhibitors will also be unveiling innovative renewable energy solutions, such as geothermal and solar technology.

“Anyone responsible for achieving greater energy-efficiency through innovative HVACR solutions won’t want to miss the 2014 AHR Expo,” said Clay Stevens, President of the International Exposition Company that produces and manages the AHR Expo. “Nowhere else in the world can HVACR professionals experience such an array of educational sessions and innovative new product solutions.” Stevens added that ASHRAE is also offering field trips to energy-efficient installations and buildings in the New York area to allow Show visitors to see the latest technology in action. However, many of these field trips are nearly sold out.

The 66th AHR Expo will take place January 21-23, 2014, at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. AHR Expo is endorsed by 33 leading HVACR industry associations and is co-sponsored by ASHRAE and the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). The Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is an honorary sponsor.
