This was the fourth in a series of seminars to be held at the VJCC this year. The two-day event attracted a cumulative total of 82 participants. They included personnel from construction companies and equipment businesses, local plant staff working for Japanese companies and a teacher from a technical university.

With its low altitude, Ho Chi Minh suffers frequent flooding as a result of rising water levels in the Saigon River. These floods have severe impacts on the lives of the people in the city. The seminar on pumps was a lecture on the basics of pumping technologies and flood control measures.

The city is currently undergoing rapid urbanization and there are many different construction projects, including the construction of subways and large-sized buildings. Chillers are indispensable for air conditioning in subway stations and large buildings. The seminar on chillers included a lecture on the different types of chillers and selecting the right type.

Ebara has fostered profound working relationships with Southeast Asian countries through technical guidance and other international cooperation activities. Since the Ebara Hatakeyama Memorial Fund was established in 1989, Ebara has organized 247 seminars in different countries around the world and has attracted a cumulative total of more than 11,000 participants. In fiscal year 2015, Ebara is set to give seminars in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Colombia, Peru and other locations.
