Eaton Announces Line Expansions

22.09.2004

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced the expansion of its residential line of Cutler-Hammer® brand generators. The new offerings are designed to address the needs of homeowners by offering reliable, continuous power solutions for today's larger, more sophisticated homes.

The new generator sizes range from 15kW up to 100kW, enhancing the current product line of 7, 10, and 12kW stand-by units, and 3-7kW portable units.

Cutler-Hammer generators provide clean, reliable standby power during utility service outages that often occur due to severe weather, downed power lines, blackouts, brownouts, or routine utility service interruptions. The units automatically sense when power is out. Combined with an Eaton automatic transfer switch (ATS), the generators will automatically start when power is interrupted and shut off when primary power has been restored, providing the safety and security of continuous power, even when homeowners are away.

"The line expansion addresses a number of key home building trends," said Dave Tallman, vice president and general manager, Residential Products Division, Eaton's electrical business.

"People are building larger homes and outfitting them with more and more amenities and critical systems, increasing the need for a source of continuous, reliable power. Even existing homes are being upgraded with present-day amenities that require reliable power, in addition to maintaining critical systems such as sump pumps, well pumps, and home security.

Tallman added, "We've addressed these trends by providing today's homeowner with more powerful generators to support even the largest, most sophisticated home. And we've combined it with the flexibility and peace of mind inherent in a unit that can run on its own."

The generators are powered by environmentally friendly low-cost fuels like natural gas or liquid propane which provide the unit with a constant fuel supply. The latest line additions are liquid cooled, maximizing unit efficiency.

The complete family of backup power solutions are offered under Eaton's Home Connected/Home Protected family of electrical products that also include surge protection, Fire-GuardTM Arc-Fault Circuit Interrupters, pool and spa panels with ground-fault protection, and structured wiring solutions enabling today's connected home. Cutler-Hammer brand generators and other Home Connected/Home protected products are available at most electrical distributors, and home improvement stores nationwide, or can be purchased and installed from your neighborhood electrical contractor.
