Eaton and Johnson Controls Announce Supplier Agreement
Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation and Johnson Controls today announced a supplier agreement to offer Variable Speed AC Drive technologies, systems and services to the HVAC and pumping industries.
The combination of Johnson Controls expertise in building automation and Eaton electrical technologies will provide customers with a complete controls solution that will lead to
significant energy savings.
"The HVAC (heating ventilation and air conditioning) market has become the fastest growing segment for AC drive technology due to the technology's inherent machine control and energy savings characteristics," says Tom Doring, Drives Business Unit Manager, Industrial Controls Division, for Eaton's Electrical business. "We will work closely with Johnson Controls to ensure the most up-to-date AC drive technologies are available for the market as it continues to grow."
Eaton provides AC drive technology today in numerous industrial and commercial applications, ranging from simple conveyor control to complex pump controls for water and wastewater treatment plants. The VS series of variable speed drives that will be sold through Johnson Controls are specifically engineered for HVAC, pump and fluid control applications. Their small size reduces installation time and costs, while offering network compatibility.
"This relationship will allow us to provide complete solutions that nobody in the marketplace currently provides," said Don Albinger, vice president of global sales, Johnson Controls. "Johnson Controls has a commitment to its customers to offer the latest in new technologies, systems and services that create a comfortable and cost-efficient environment."
