Created to recognize individual HI members who go above and beyond in their service to the development of ANSI/HI Pump Standards, guidelines, and educational and training programs and the companies that support these individuals, the HI recently launched a new Standards VIP Program. During the HI 2011 Annual Meeting, Merrill was recognized for being an active and dynamic member and for being an integral part of the HI standards development process. At the meeting, each Standards VIP recipient received a special VIP pin corresponding to their years of dedication to HI.
Since 2007, Merrill has served as an application engineering manager for EagleBurgmann in the Charlotte, N.C. office. He is responsible for the design and support of engineered mechanical seals throughout the U.S. Prior to joining EagleBurgmann, he spent 16 years working as a seal design engineer, application engineer and seal support system specialist.
Merrill received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tulsa and his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado and a member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment for John,” said Phillip Peck, director of sales and marketing, EagleBurgmann USA. “Being honored by the Hydraulic Institute shows John’s tremendous talent being recognized by his peers and his hard work and dedication to the program.”
