Düchting to Supply Large Absorber Recycle Pumps

20.01.2004

Düchting received the order to supply 5 FGD pumps, each with a capacity of 7,800 m³/h, for the power station Schkopau, Germany.

The new MCC (Mineral Cast Compound) versions of the larger absorber recycle pumps prevail against their traditional counterparts. Since October 2002, Duechting has only built MCC-pumps. Made of the well-known SICcast® material, MCC-pumps combine the high resistance of SICcast® against abrasion and corrosion with the compact liner construction style. This is by far the most innovative solution for long-lasting pumps in flue gas desulphorization plants world-wide. Thus, the plant operators of Schopkau have also decided in favour of this stunning technology and not for the traditional stainless steel version.

A further contact to supply 12 pumps for the Bulgarian power station Maritza East III will result in the largest absorber recycle pumps ever built. They will have a capacity of 12,500 m³/h.
