Dr. S. Brodersen Elected New Europump President

Dr. Sönke BRODERSEN, KSB Senior Vice President, is the new Europump President. He was elected President in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in replacement of Jérôme DUPREZ, Ensival-Moret.

"The pump industry as an enabling industry for all kinds of fluid transport has achieved a high reputation within and outside Europe” says Brodersen. ”This is mainly due to the fact that we are strongly engaged in sustainable solutions for energy savings with direct benefits for the environment, our customers and the competitiveness of our member companies. I am glad to be engaged in this process. I will stay this course and give my best to increase our efforts and communication to European officials and other stakeholders."

Mr Carlo BANFI, Sterling Fluid Systems SPA and Mr Soren SMEDEGAARD, Smedegaard A/S were elected Vice Presidents.

The General Assembly of Europump confirms the global leadership of the industry with this new Council. They will deliver the ambitious work programme of Europump. Research on the extended product approach for pumps, under the Ecopump policy in cooperation with TU Darmstadt, proves the commitment and societal responsibility of the pump industry. The Europump Members agreed to invest over 290,000€ in the project.

In addition the Annual General Assembly showed that global economic prospects remain good for the European pump industry. Its recovery is continuing.
