Davey Acquires Contamination Control

Davey Products Pty Ltd, Australia's leading designer and manufacturer of water pumps and systems for rural, metropolitan, industrial, pool, and spa markets, has acquired the New Zealand based Contamination Control business, effective 29 April 2005.

Contamination Control is a leading manufacturer and supplier of a comprehensive range of water treatment products for domestic, rural, industrial and commercial applications in the New Zealand market.

The business has a broad customer base including urban and rural households, large dairies, breweries and food processors, municipal water supply utilities and commercial offices. Its product range covers a wide spectrum of water treatment technologies including cartridge filtration and ultra-violet disinfection.

Contamination Control is the leading supplier of mains pressure water purifiers and coolers to New Zealand households and commercial premises with its well known Microlene and Filterpure brands.

Davey is currently the distributor for Contamination Control’s Steriflo range of ultra violet water treatment systems in the Australian market. This acquisition provides the potential to grow through offering a more comprehensive range of water treatment technologies to Davey’s established dealer networks and key accounts in Australia and in its established export markets.

Davey is a member of the GUD Holdings Limited group. The acquisition of Contamination Control, following that of Spa-Quip in 2004, underlines GUD's intent to grow its businesses with commonsense, value creating acquisitions.
