Christopher M. Connor Elected to Eaton Board of Directors

Eaton’s shareholders elected Christopher M. Connor to Eaton's Board of Directors. Connor is chairman, president and chief executive officer of The Sherwin-Williams Company.

Connor replaces Kiran M. Patel who resigned from the Eaton Board. Patel, who had been a director since 2003, stepped down from Eaton's Board due to schedule conflicts between Eaton Board meetings and his commitments as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Intuit Inc.

Shareholders also re-elected three directors to serve new three-year terms. Re-elected as directors were Alexander M. Cutler, chairman and chief executive officer of Eaton, and a director since 1993; Gary L. Tooker, former chief executive officer of Motorola, Inc., and a director since 1992; and Deborah L. McCoy, former senior vice president of Continental Airlines, Inc., and a director since 2000.

Separately, Eaton's shareholders ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as Eaton's independent auditor for 2006.
