Change on the Board of Directors of Georg Fischer Ltd
The Board of Directors of Georg Fischer Ltd will propose Hubert Achermann, Lucerne (Switzerland), for election as a new member of the Board at the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on 19 March, 2014. He will replace Kurt E. Stirnemann, who is reaching the retirement age for Board members.
Hubert Achermann (born 1951) is a Swiss citizen and graduated in law at the University of Berne (Switzerland). The attorney-at-law held various key positions at KPMG, then became member of the Executive Committee of KPMG Switzerland responsible for the areas Tax/Legal and Private Clients. He was promoted CEO of KPMG Switzerland in 2004, a position he held until 2012. Since 2013, Hubert Achermann has been member of the Board of Directors of Implenia, where he holds the Chairmanship of the Audit Committee. He is also very committed to culture and arts, chairing the Board of Trustees of the “Lucerne Festival” and the “Friends of Lucerne Festival” foundation.

Stirnemann for his long-time commitment to the company, first as President of GF AgieCharmilles as of 1996, then as CEO and Delegate of the Board of Directors of Georg Fischer from 2003 to 2008, and as member of the Board from 2003 to 2014. He can look back to a successful career in the service of the company. We wish him all the best for the future.
The election of Hubert Achermann will take place at the Annual Shareholders Meeting of 19 March, 2014.
