Brian D. Jellison Elected Chairman of Roper Industries

26.11.2003

Roper Industries, Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has elected Brian D. Jellison, Roper’s President, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, to the additional post of Chairman of the Board.

This change completes the leadership transition process that began when Mr. Jellison joined Roper in November 2001. He succeeds Derrick N. Key, who has served as Chairman since 1994. Mr. Key had been CEO of Roper from December 1991 to November 2001. Mr. Key will remain a director of the Company.

“Since Brian joined the Company, he has successfully launched important strategic initiatives to enhance Roper’s growth strategy,” said Mr. Key. “These initiatives, including the new market-focused business structure, strengthened leadership, and enhanced acquisition process, are creating immediate benefits. The most recent quarter’s record results and the recently announced definitive agreement to acquire Neptune Technology Group Holdings clearly reflect his vision and drive to create shareholder value. Under Brian’s leadership, Roper is well-positioned for continued success.”

Mr. Jellison said, “During his more than 20-year tenure at Roper, Derrick built the foundation of the Company’s success. He formulated our early strategic direction as a private company, led our transition to a public company, and identified and executed many successful acquisitions. All of these contributions will continue to benefit shareholders for years to come, and we look forward to his continuing involvement as a member of the Board.”
