Blockage-free Sewage Pumping

05.01.2004

ABS is introducing a new range of submersible sewage pumps, the AFP ME line sustaining its leadership in blockage-free pumping.

For more than a decade, the AFP pump has been the core of the ABS submersible pump range. Robust and reliable, the AFP is running in over one million tough sewage and wastewater applications world-wide giving trouble-free and efficient operation.

ABS is introducing the next generation of AFP pumps by launching the new AFP ME4, to be followed by a full, new pump range in spring 2004. By introducing the new AFP ME4, ABS is taking the first step towards launching a new pump line that is even more cost-effective, meeting the increasing expectations and requirements of customers worldwide. The new AFP ME4 series, where ME stands for Modular and high Efficiency, will replace today ’s AFP M4 range.

Hands-on know-how

The AFP ME line comes with built-in hands-on know-how for long lasting and cost-effective pumping:

  • reduced operating costs through blockage-free pumping
  • reduced power consumption with industry leading motor efficiency
  • reduced maintenance costs with excellent serviceability

Wide range of applications

The AFP pumps provide an abundance of opportunities in municipal and industrial applications, including effluent treatment, food processing, breweries and pulp & paper mills. They are suitable for clear water and wastewater, for sewage and sludge containing solids and fibrous material. In combination with the ABS automatic coupling system, the below ground level wet installation is a particularly economical and environmentally friendly solution. The pumps are also suitable for horizontal or vertical dry installation. The new AFP ME4 series offers high efficiency motors from 15 to 53 kW, 4 to 8 poles and hydraulics from DN 100 to DN 300. They are also available in an explosion-roof version.

More to come …

It offers hydraulic efficiencies with high efficiency motors, and the new unique closed and non-clogging cooling system in combination with the well-proven ABS ContraBlock® system. The AFP ME line will incorporate ABS’ full process and application knowledge acquired from over 140 years of experience.
