Baker Hughes Names Jan Kees van Gaalen Vice President and Treasurer

Baker Hughes Incorporated announced on Wednesday that Jan Kees van Gaalen, has been appointed vice president and treasurer for Baker Hughes Incorporated and is expected to assume his duties on January 14, 2008.

Mr. van Gaalen will replace Douglas Doty who retired from the company in July 2007.

Peter A. Ragauss, Baker Hughes senior vice president and chief financial officer, said "We are pleased that Jan Kees van Gaalen is joining the Baker Hughes management team. Jan Kees is a seasoned finance executive and brings with him a wealth of experience in all facets of the function. His global experience and natural resources background will be invaluable as we continue to grow our presence in global markets."

Biography

Mr. van Gaalen, 51, joins Baker Hughes from PT Inco Tbk, the publicly traded Indonesian subsidiary of Vale Inco Ltd., where he served as chief financial officer. Prior to this, he held a variety of finance positions with Anglo American plc, Carlton Communications plc and Schlumberger Ltd. in France, the United Kingdom, Brazil and South Africa. Mr. van Gaalen received his bachelor's degree in economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands and his MBA from the HEC Management School in France.
