Baker Hughes Appoints New Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Baker Hughes Incorporated announced that Clifton (Clif) Triplett, 50, has been appointed Vice President and Chief Information Officer and is expected to assume his duties on September 29, 2008.

In this position, he will report to Martin Craighead and David Barr, Group Presidents.

"Clif s deep experience in managing the commercial deployment of advanced technologies to significantly improve business operations will be an important asset as we continue to build and grow a global high performing business," said Chad Deaton, President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Baker Hughes.

Biography

Mr. Triplett joins Baker Hughes from Motorola where he served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for their Network and Enterprise Group and most recently as Vice President, Global Services. Prior to that, he held a variety of IT leadership roles with General Motors, Allied Signal and Entergy Services. Mr. Triplett received a bachelor s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy and spent the first 10 years of his career in the military, both in the United States and internationally. He also holds a master s degree in computer information systems from Boston University.
