AxFlow Ireland Acquires Combiflow
AxFlow Limited in Dublin Ireland, part of the AxFlow Group, has announced its acquisition of liquids handling supplier Combiflow Limited in Ballymount West Dublin. The acquisition of Combiflow makes AxFlow Ireland the largest distributor of positive displacement pumps and fluid handling systems throughout Ireland.
Announcing the acquisition, AxFlow Ireland managing director Stuart Flood commented: “AxFlow and Combiflow have complementary product ranges and experience in the provision of pumps and associated fluid handling technologies. Historically both companies have concentrated on different market sectors, where they have been highly successful. By bringing the two companies together we shall be able to provide all sectors of industry throughout Ireland with a wider product offering, enhanced customer care and service levels, and access to the AxFlow Group’s considerable international resources.”
The AxFlow product portfolio now includes Mono pumps, Waukesha Cherry Burrell, Bran + Luebbe, ITT Jabsco, Wilden, Almatec, Johnson Pump, Flux, Global, Mouvex, Piab and Blackmer.
The AxFlow Group is the largest distributor of positive displacement pumps and related products and services in Europe, and represents world-leading suppliers. The acquisition of Combiflow gives AxFlow Ireland full services facilities in both the plants in Dublin together with additional facilities in Cork and Belfast. It will also provide new opportunities for Combiflow’s employees as they become part of the international AxFlow Group.
AxFlow believes that by merging the resources and experience of Combiflow into its operation will bring considerable benefits for both companies’ existing clients and new business prospects through their combined strengths. “This acquisition could not have come at a better time, for after a challenging economic climate over the past 18 months, we are already seeing signs of recovery so we shall be able to capitalise on the upturn,” continues Stuart Flood.
Morgan O’Brien, formerly Managing Director of Combiflow and Key Account Manager and Product Manager with AxFlow, is equally as enthusiastic about the acquisition commenting: “The synergy of complimentary products resulting from the acquisition and the resources available from AxFlow provides a platform for growth. Most importantly it improves the level of service and product offering to our clients across all industry sectors.”
Combiflow was established in 1988 and has a base with product stocks and workshop facilities in Ballymount, West Dublin. Its core markets are in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and semiconductor industries. AxFlow Ireland was established in 2000 when it took over the Mono Pumps operation in Dublin. Since then it has added to its product portfolio and established itself as a major force in the water and waste water treatment, food, dairy and beverage industries.
“AxFlow Ireland’s strengths lie in its capability to offer one-off pumps for specific applications alongside engineering design, installation and commissioning of integrated fluid handling systems,” says Stuart Flood. “In addition, we also undertake on site surveys, trouble-shooting, training and provide maintenance contracts.”
