API In-Line Process Pumps by Flowserve

22.11.2002

Flowserve announces its HWX family of API in-line process pumps consisting of 11 different types available with 81 basic hydraulics and in different designs.

The HWX family of in-line process pumps consists of 11 different types referenced in API 610, 8th Edition (and upcoming 9th Edition) as OH3 (bearing frame), OH4 (rigid coupled) and OH5 (directly coupled) designs. With 81 basic hydraulics, the HWX provides the most comprehensive hydraulic coverage in the marketplace while offering the user broad application flexibility plus the enhancements of customized hydraulics and mechanical arrangements for specific customer’s needs, product selection criteria and budget.

The heart of the in-line family is the HWX, OH3 design, which has only two bearing housing frames, bearing sets and mechanical seal sizes for maximum parts interchangeability. Bearing housing designs cover a wide range of applications from -185° C (-300° F) to 400° C (750° F) and offer patented oil cascade, oil mist or greased bearing lubrication options as required by service conditions. Other significant features include: flexible-disc spacer couplings; external fans for cooling or heating; API 682 mechanical seals; complete back pull-out design; usable with NEMA, IEC and existing field drivers (C-face and P-base).

The 10 complementary in-line designs within the HWX family consist of: single and two-stage low flow/high head OH3, OH4 and OH5 pumps; OH4 conventional and variable speed pumps up to 8000 rpm: double suction impeller pumps; OH5 pumps including models with diffuser casings and replaceable volute inserts, and a magnetic drive model to API 685 design criteria. The entire HWX family provides hundreds of hydraulics over a full range of flows to 2850 m3/h (12,500 gpm) and heads to 850 m (2800 ft) at temperatures to 400° C (750° F).

Flowserve is globally recognized as the industry leader for product reliability, hydraulic coverage, product/applications flexibility and parts interchangeability for hydrocarbon processing, pipeline, chemical, power and industrial markets. Dallas, Texas based Flowserve Corporation is a global manufacturer of pumps, seals, valves and systems.

Chlorine Gas Systems: New Electric Safety Valve Makes the System Safer

13.12.2024 -

Chlorine gas plays a key role in the disinfection of drinking and industrial water. However, handling the chemical can pose considerable health risks – from irritation of the eyes to fatal pulmonary oedema. To further improve occupational safety during use, Lutz-Jesco has developed the VakuStop – a vacuum regulator for dosing systems that is equipped with an emergency stop function to prevent uncontrolled chlorine gas leaks directly at the chlorine gas tank in the event of an emergency.
