Andritz to Supply Generators For New Upper Kaleköy Hydropower Station
Andritz Hydro, part of international technology Group Andritz, has received an order as part of a consortium from Kalehan Enerji, Turkey, for supply, installation, and commissioning (scheduled for 2016) of three 235 megavolt ampere generators for the new hydropower plant Upper Kaleköy. The order has a value of approximately 30 million euros.

The planned hydropower station has a total output of 636 megawatts and will cover – with a production of approximately 1,470 gigawatt hours per year – the electricity demand for 150,000 households in Turkey.
Upper Kaleköy is the second in a cascade of four power stations planned on the Murat River. For the first hydropower plant in this cascade in Eastern Turkey, Beyhan-1, Andritz Hydro received an order last year to supply three Francis turbines (each with an output of 186 megawatts).
