Flow Control’s Innovation Awards program, which is in its 13th year, is an annual competition designed to recognize the year’s most compelling advances in fluid-handling technology in the categories of Fluid Measurement, Control and Containment. Almatec’s E-Series pumps were nominated for an Innovation Award in the Control category in January 2010 and named a finalist in June. After the votes of the magazine’s readers were tabulated, the E-Series was named a 2010 Innovation Award winner and will be featured in the September issue of Flow Control.
The E-Series pumps, which are a direct replacement for Almatec’s popular A-Series pumps, earned their name because they have been designed to be economic, ecological, efficient and ergonomic. They feature an all-plastic diaphragm and are available in seven sizes, from DN 8 to 80, with maximum flow capacities from 0.9 m3/h to 43 m3/h. The pumps also offer Almatec’s patented PERSWING P Air Control System, which is both maintenance- and lubrication-free.
E-Series pumps offer an optimized flow pattern that delivers a higher fluid flow while needing less air, resulting in greener production and reduced production costs. The pumps also feature a first-of-its-kind ring-tightening structure that allows all of the housing bolts to be tightened against a diaphragm-sized ring on a much bigger face. This reduces the surface pressure significantly and the punctual stress on the pump material, while increasing pump safety and ability to handle temperature variations. The E-Series also has a solid housing that absorbs mechanical vibrations and noise level much better than thin-walled pumps.
