All Is Ready for the Thirty-Eighth Edition of MCE 2012

27.01.2012

Once again, the key purpose of the 38th MCE – Mostra Convegno Expocomfort, scheduled for 27th - 30th March 2012 at Fiera Milano, is to further increase business opportunities creating the ideal conditions for bringing together supply and demand.

Energy valorisation, in terms of innovation and research is the driver of the 2012 edition whose prospects appear very favourable up to now: with only a few months remaining before MCE 2012, more than 1,900 exhibiting companies have confirmed their participation with a 11% rise in foreign exhibitor numbers, and last but not least the entire exhibition centre occupied. All these figures confirm its position as the international benchmark event for domestic and industrial installations.

Can energy valorisation shape a more sustainable future? Which is the role of renewable energy sources in the global energy mix? What are the best solutions to achieve the Europe 2020 goals? These issues will be tackled at MCE 2012 during the conference “Zero Energy 2020: Towards Building Technology Integration”, the connecting thread running through the 38th MCE offering the entire industry the latest on markets, technology and legislation for everything related to the future energy sources in our country and all over the world.

“The 2012 issue - declared Massimiliano Pierini, Business Unit Director of Reed Exhibitions Italia – will highlight a new approach to building efficiency that encompasses all the thematic areas of our exhibition: heating, cooling, water and energy. Up till now, we have recorded a rise in exhibitor numbers confirming the key role played by all the core areas of MCE 2012 whose common thread is to fuel research for developing products and solutions significantly reducing the power consumption and create new market segments”.

In this context, a series of initiatives will be held with the aim at giving life to MCE 2012. First of all, a rich calendar of conferences organized by Next Energy Scientific Committee, chaired by a representative of the Polytechnic of Milan, Best Department, that will include three crowd-pulling institutional conferences. The first conference (in chronological order) by FCE - Forum Nazionale on the Energy Building Certification, in collaboration with CTI – Comitato Termotecnico Italiano – (Italian Thermo-technical Committee) will be a valuable occasion to critically evaluate the evolution of the implementation of the directive in Italy, after a very successfully first edition held on 14th-15th June 2011. This will be followed by, “Installations and sustainable works of architecture from around the world”, aimed to highlight concrete examples of architectural planning and design of the next generation, with the participation of internationally well-known speakers. The third lecture will focus on “Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal as parts of an integrated energy system” a mixture of technologies required for energetic valorisation in the near future. Within this scenario, MCE 2012 will be dedicating a special area expressly to PV which has always been part of the exhibition, with the aim of offering the entire industry a unique platform for making contact with the broad audience of trade professionals, installers, designers, decision-makers.

Bolstered by the success of MCE 2010 “Percorso Efficienza & Innovazione 2012” and “Verso la Classe A 2012”, are back. The two synergistic but distinct events will offer a complete overview of high-tech innovative products and solutions promoted by exhibiting companies to increase energy efficiency in buildings. In particular, “Percorso Efficienza & Innovazione 2012”, launched last October on the website: www.mcexpocomfort.it, has already registered a high number of companies who have submitted the special data sheet; all the products selected and admitted to the initiative will be available online on MCE website.

Furthermore, “Verso la Classe A 2012”, a show within a show, located in Hall 6 showcasing the best in class products shortlisted among the ones belonging to “Percorso Efficienza & Innovazione”. A unique opportunity for all professionals to gain hands-on experience with the most advanced technologies applied to high-performance energy-efficiency solutions.

MCE 2012 also continues its long and enduring cooperation with ANIMA, ANGAISA e ASSISTAL. In this regard, at MCE 2012 the Osservatorio del Mercato Idrotermosanitario set up by MCE in collaboration with the three main industry associations, taking existing data will provide standardized monitoring of the entire industry. This unique market observer is intended to monitor the different players in the industry: manufacturers, distributors and installers.

Moreover, MCE 2012 will host TECNOPOLIS, an event organized by ANGAISA, showcasing the most innovative technological solutions aimed at distribution companies in heating, plumbing and sanitary fittings sector: RF and RFId, new generation tags and barcodes in a storehouse rebuilt alongside the exhibition area. Whereas ANIMA will propose a special “Lounge” dedicated to mechanical industry and innovative technologies on display at MCE, creating a unique opportunity for exchange and discussion. Finally, ANIMA and MCE will promote once again the “Committee for the Protection of Industrial and Intellectual Property”, a unique tool enabling rapid intervention during the exhibition, to remove the counterfeit item from the stand. This body is set up and managed by an ad hoc committee consisting of lawyers and experts.

Again this year MCE 2012 will host Welding Days, an area equipped with workbenches and tools, workshops and seminars with staff on hand to explain the latest welding technology, during which visitors may get a welding qualification.

Not to be missed the CESTEC area – Centro per lo Sviluppo Tecnologico, l’Energia e la Competitività – a company of the Regione Lombardia - dedicated to professional upgrading, and a valuable occasion to discuss the most innovative solutions ensuring high efficiency planning and energy building certification.

A novelty for the 38th edition will be the Four-way Soccer Tournament MCE 2012, a 5-on-5 soccer tournament, organized in collaboration with Delta ITS, that will offer the chance to watch teams of distributors, plumbers and engineers take part in exciting challenges playing live from a real soccer field, and elect the winners of this competition.

A list of initiatives enriched with a series of events promoted by exhibiting companies and other activities not already defined that integrate synergically with a wide exhibition area, an opportunity not to be missed for a vast audience of professionals, (157,447 during MCE 2010) suggesting an innovative new approach to building design focussed on the successful integration between buildings and installations aimed at promoting the realisation of energy efficient and comfortable buildings.

MCE - MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT 2012 is taking place under the patronage of: Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico, Regione Lombardia, Provincia di Milano, and Comune di Milano.
