ABS: Report on Operations 2001
Invoiced sales 2001 reached EUR 306 million (300 MEUR in 2000). The operating profit was 19 MEUR (26 MEUR). ABS continued to expand in the Water and Wastewater segment, as well as in the process industry and in the aftermarket area.
The inflow of orders rose by 4 percent after adjustment for the effects of exchange rate movements. This was despite weak demand in Germany and the UK.
The aftermarket area expanded strongly during the year with a rate of increase that was twice as high as that for other areas. Service workshops were established and acquired in countries that included the USA, the Republic of Ireland, the UK, France and Spain.
ABS is the major part of Cardo Pump which in turn is one of three business areas within Cardo AB, an industrial group listed on the Stockholm stock exchange. Cardo AB had a group turnover in 2001 of more than EUR 1,167 million.
