ABS pumps used for new wastewater plant in the old capital of China

10.07.2002

ABS in China has delivered wastewater pumps and a large number of mixers for a new wastewater plant in Nan jing, the old capital of China. The city of Nan jing is upgrading its wastewater system by building a new plant.

Four large wastewater pumps of type AFP 6004 with 300 kW motor and three even larger AFP 8002 with 350kW each weighing six and eight and a half ton respectively, will be used to pump raw sewage into the treatment plant. These are probably among the largest submersible pumps in the world. The total flow of these pumps is 8m3/s and the sewage water will be lifted 16meter.

The pumps are specially designed for pumping heavily polluted raw sewage, and have proven themselves everywhere where volumes of water or sewage must be pumped quickly and reliably. They guarantee an economical pump operation due to high hydraulically and electrical efficiencies.

In the biological treatment part of the same plant, 48 ABS submersible mixers of series ECOMIX® will also be installed. The mixers, which are of the type RW, are equipped with a 650mm diameter propeller and a motor of 10kW. The design of these compact, direct-driven submersible mixers is optimised to give optimal mixing properties and retain a long operating life. The order is further proof that ABS’ broad range of pumps, mixers and aerators brings the optimal lifetime solution for every application.
