ABS Interim Report: January – March 2003

Invoiced sales amounted to 70,6 (78,6) MEUR, which adjusted for the effect of exchange rate movements is 6 percent lower than the previous year. Operating earnings amounted to 3.3 (3.3) MEUR.

The inflow of orders was, after adjustment for the effects of exchange rate movements, on a par with the previous year.

In the water and wastewater segment, demand during the period was lower than the previous year, particularly regarding big wastewater pumps. Demand in the building services segment was on a par with the previous year, while it increased from the process industry.

In the USA, the market situation stabilized during the first quarter and demand was on a par with the corresponding period the previous year.

Sales for the Spanish market saw a large increase during this period. The demand in both the Asian and the Middle Eastern markets decreased somewhat during the end of this period. There was also a small decrease in sales during this period in Scandinavia.

Exchange rates from SEK to EUR: 9.18071 (2003) and 9.17223 (2002).
