ABS extends the AFP Range of Submersible Sewage Pumps

09.11.2001

Excellent efficiency and low energy consumption characterize the new AFP 8000 range of submersible sewage pumps from ABS.

Excellent Performance and Efficiency

ABS extends the range of submersible sewage pumps to a motor power of 1 Megawatt. The new AFP 8000 range features probably the largest submersibles manufactured in the world. The pumps provide plenty of opportunities for medium and high head applications in the sewage industry, irrigation, industrial plants like steel and paper mills and for drinking water supply. The product development has been focused on excellent performance and efficiency. The best point of efficiency of the new AFP 8002 is 2,500 l/s to 34 m, with an optimum efficiency of 86.1%.

Low Energy Consumption

ABS has also developed a low head version, which is the AFP 8001 with a best efficiency of 87.9% at 2,050 l/s and 17 m head. The motors are from the new M10 to M12 series, with a maximum power of 1000 kW for 50 and 60 Hz.

The pumps are suitable for both dry well and wet well installations, and equipped with the well-known ABS cooling system. The AFP series from ABS is a well-proven pump range for wastewater and sewage handling. The new AFP 8000 range additionally enhances the variety of applications, well suitable for main sewage and treatment inlet pumping stations, for new schemes as well as for refurbishment of existing stations. The excellent efficiency means low energy consumption – another proof of the ABS´ cost-effective pumping concept.

Chlorine Gas Systems: New Electric Safety Valve Makes the System Safer

13.12.2024 -

Chlorine gas plays a key role in the disinfection of drinking and industrial water. However, handling the chemical can pose considerable health risks – from irritation of the eyes to fatal pulmonary oedema. To further improve occupational safety during use, Lutz-Jesco has developed the VakuStop – a vacuum regulator for dosing systems that is equipped with an emergency stop function to prevent uncontrolled chlorine gas leaks directly at the chlorine gas tank in the event of an emergency.
