ABS acquires French manufacturer of pumping stations and sets up Portuguese subsidiary

ABS has acquired Soprime, a French manufacturer of pumping stations. The acquisition is a result of The ABS Group's intensified focus on service and after sales. ABS has also set up a subsidiary in Portugal to increase market presence.

Soprime manufactures small and medium sized pumping stations and has an extensive service operation and pump rental in France. The acquisition will strengthen the ABS presence in the northern part of France. In addition, the ABS product range will also be supplemented with complete, pre-fabricated pumping stations for the French market. Soprime has a turnover of

23 MSEK and has 17 employees.

In Portugal, ABS has acquired Hidrobomba, the company’s previous distributor, in order to set up a subsidiary. Hidrobomba mainly operates in the Water & Wastewater market segment.

Through the acquisition, ABS has increased the possibilities of taking part in the substantial infrastructural and environmental investments expected to take place in Portugal in the coming years. Hidrobomba has a turnover of 18 MSEK and has 11 employees.
