1st Egyptian-German Water Partnership Day in Cairo

H.E. Julius Georg Luy, German Ambassador to Egypt and Eng. Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Water and Wastewater welcomed over 160 participants to the 1st Egyptian-German Water Partnership Day in Cairo on the 5th of February 2019.

German Water Partnership (GWP) in cooperation with the Egyptian Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) and the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) organized the 1st Egyptian-German Water Partnership Day on the 5th of February 2019 in Cairo. The conference is supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

H.E. Julius Georg Luy, German Ambassador to Egypt and Eng. Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Water and Wastewater welcomed more than 160 participants to a high-ranking conference that aims at promoting bilateral cooperation in investments and trade between Egypt and Germany in the water sector. The conference is held on the occasion of an incoming business delegation from Germany, that comprises fourteen companies and organizations from different fields of the water sector.

The 1st Egyptian-GWP-Day titled “Sustainable and efficient solutions for the Egyptian water sector” will introduce German solutions and technologies to the relevant Egyptian stakehold-ers. Egyptian and German experts will illustrate the status quo and challenges of the Egyptian water sector while the opportunities of German technology solutions in the areas of waste water management, sewage treatment, energy efficiency for water systems, sludge to ener-gy, advanced automation and filtration systems as well as renewable energies for desalination were highlighted.

The German water sector is one of the most powerful and internationally competitive industries. It bundles 150 years of experience in the fields of technology, application and management.
