Pump Industry Awards Ceremony Postponed to September

09.03.2021
Following the UK Government’s recently announced ‘roadmap’ to the lifting of its COVID-19 restrictions, the BPMA and it event organiser, Touchwave Media, have been forced once again to postpone its 2020/21 Pump Industry Awards Ceremony, hitherto scheduled for the evening of Thursday 1st July 2021.

Having already rescheduled the event several times from its original date in March 2020, it is very much hoped that the proposed timeline mapped out by the Prime Minister, will indeed deliver the eagerly anticipated relaxation of the rules.

However, with caution being the watch word over the coming months, whilst the vaccine roll-out continues apace and public confidence develops, the event has now been rescheduled to the evening of Thursday 23rd September 2021. The Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth will be retained as the venue for this special evening of reward and celebration.

Commenting on the decision, Steve Schofield, CEO at the BPMA said: “Whilst the health and safety of attendees continues to be our priority, the credibility and delivery of the overall awards presentation for all those involved – Members, Sponsors, Finalists, and Winners - remains a key consideration. This is especially so as we look to celebrate its 20th Anniversary in what is the BPMA’s 80th year.”

He continued: “Although our hand has once again been forced, with the roadmap now in place, and the prospect of a population-wide rollout of the vaccination programme by the Autumn, I’m sure all will support this responsible approach. I would again thank everyone for their continued understanding during these extraordinary times, and on behalf of everyone at the BPMA I wish you a safe and healthy transition through the next few weeks and months.”

With the unwavering support of the venue, the gala awards dinner will be staged on the exact same basis, with all sponsorship, table bookings and overnight accommodation being honoured and carried forward to the new date.

Non-Compliant Pumps: A False Economy the UK Can No Longer Afford

14.10.2025 -

Circulation pumps may not grab headlines, but they are the beating heart of heating and hot water systems across the UK. In both homes and commercial buildings, their performance directly affects energy consumption, running costs, and long-term reliability. Yet our market is increasingly threatened by a flood of cheap, non-compliant imports from the Far East—products that fail to meet the safety and efficiency standards required by UK law. This is not just a technical problem. It is a consumer issue, a business issue, and an environmental issue that undermines the UK’s drive toward net zero.
