AIChE To Create Solutions-Based Conference For Processing Pros At The 2013 Chem Show
A multi-faceted educational conference featuring solutions-focused presentations and in-depth tutorials for processing professionals will be one of the many highlights of the 55th biennial Chem Show taking place in New York City, December 10-12, 2013.

Produced by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), a global organization with more than 40,000 members in 92 countries, the AIChE Northeast Manufacturing Conference at the Chem Show will feature leading industry experts presenting valuable insights and information specifically geared toward engineers working in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and other process industries. Conference sessions will address energy-savings and efficiency, new and improved operating equipment and environmental, health and safety issues.
Preceding the one-and-a-half day Conference will be a day of tutorials that range from engineering fundamentals to plant and equipment basics.
“The combination of in-depth classroom knowledge and show floor demonstrations will make the 2013 Chem Show and the AIChE Northeast Manufacturing Conference a unique educational experience,” said Lauren Deitch, AIChE’s Technical Programming Project Manager. “The program’s format will make it easy for attendees to take in the expo floor while still attending the conference sessions or tutorials.”
A long-time supporter of the Chem Show, AIChE became involved with the educational programming of the event in 2009 when it sponsored the first “AIChE Day” at the Show. Based on the success of that event, AIChE then produced the entire conference program for the 2011 Chem Show.
Since 1915, the Chem Show is the event where process engineers, production/plant personnel and executives from companies across the Chemical Process Industries (CPI) come to see and learn about the latest technology to increase process efficiency, solve problems, reduce energy costs and be more sustainable in their operations. It’s a hands-on, interactive event that showcases a wide spectrum of emerging technologies from more than 300 exhibiting companies from around the world.
“We are delighted to have AIChE again produce a solutions-focused educational conference during our event,” said Clay Stevens, President of International Exposition Company, which produces and manages the Chem Show. “It provides a valuable benefit to many of the chemical processing professionals who come to the Chem Show to see and learn about all the latest industry innovations and technologies.”
The full conference program will be announced at a later date and will be available on the Chem Show website.
