Europump Becomes Associate Member of Orgalime
Europump is now an Associate Member of Orgalime, the European Engineering Industries Association.
Membership of Orgalime opens opportunities for Europump in terms of extensive, additional information sources, gaining better insights into the legislative process at European level and ensuring that the legitimate concerns of the European pump industry are considered when legislation is framed.
“With the Orgalime Associate Membership” says Dr Brodersen, Europump President “coupled with the central filing of the Europump Committee information on our new extranet, we make Orgalime Task Forces, Orgalime information and the work of the Europump Committees transparent and easily accessible for the benefit of all Europump members. As an engineer with experience of R&D, I know that individual organisations can suffer from a failure to share data among themselves. You need to open up and break the silo mentality so that knowledge flows and everyone benefits. This is what we want to achieve with Associate Membership, thereby gaining competitive advantage at global level for our companies and being THE reference point in European politics for pump-related matters. Becoming an Associate Member is the result of the considerable efforts made by our Brussels-based team.”
The Orgalime General Assembly responded positively to the Europump application for Associate Membership. Europump now has privileged access to the Orgalime extranet and task forces. Europump will benefit from Orgalime’s extensive information resources and improved access to the Orgalime network of contacts among trade associations, legislators and EU personnel. This will enable Europump, as the voice of the European pump industry, to be heard more clearly by influencers, legislators and regulators at European level.
Europump and the pump industry will reap the benefits of this cooperation more quickly than associations that are not making the move. This will take the pump industry a step further in influencing laws and shaping its own future instead of reacting passively to legislation.
