Pump Systems Matter(tm) (PSM), a North American education organization aimed at lowering energy needs by optimizing pump system performance, announced partnerships with four new sponsor organizations. Hydro Incorporated, Engineered Software, Inc., Manitoba Hydro and Xcel Energy have joined as sponsors.

"With our focus on quality and reliability, it's no surprise that Pump Systems Matter and Hydro, Inc. are a perfect fit for one another," says George Harris, President and CEO of Hydro, Inc. "We look forward to teaming with PSM in creating new and exciting initiatives to spread the word about pump system optimization and efficiency."

"Pipelines and their interaction with all the other pieces are integral in the world of pump system optimization," says Ray Hardee, Chief Engineer of Engineered Software.  "Pump Systems Matter allows us to be further involved in helping to reduce energy consumption and cost among end-users throughout North America."

"Pumps Systems Matter is the perfect parallel program to the very successful Compressed Air Challenge in which we also participate." says Martin Bima, Industrial System Engineer. "Our customers have already captured some incredible savings in several pumping projects. We believe that the education-based Pump Systems Matter organization is an invaluable resource that will help promote pumping systems awareness, and assist our customers in reducing their energy use and maintenance costs, while improving reliability and profitability."

"At Xcel Energy, we're aggressive in promoting energy conservation in the manufacturing processes of our large industrial customers," says Tami Gunderzik, product portfolio manager. "Pump systems consume a significant portion of energy with these end-users. Our sponsorship of Pump Systems Matter will allow us to leverage our efforts in developing market awareness, educational tools and industry standards that will help drive energy efficiency."
