Lowara Acquires Mercury
On June 27, Mercury S.r.l. and Lowara S.r.l. executed a final agreement whereby Mercury sells to Lowara its business inclusive of engineering, production and sales activities related to electric motors for submersible pumps up to a power rating of 300kW. The sale includes the trade brand as well.
This transaction falls within the ITT strategic perspective of expanding its product offering in the key segment of irrigation and water supply, in order to effectively respond to recent structural changes of the market. The Mercury motor range now represents the natural complement to the submersible pumps in stainless steel or other versions offered by Lowara, sharing their recognized high performance and reliability characteristics.
ITT Lowara is keeping the Mercury activities in the current site of Pogliano Milanese (Milan) with the same production process and the same organization and resources in force at this date. The integration of these activities into the Lowara processes will be conducted using the organizational and operational models of the Management System of ITT, the Corporation to which Lowara belongs since 1997. The priority objective is to assure the highest levels of service and assistance to the global Customer base, working also through sister companies within ITT.
Lowara belongs to the ITT Residential and Commercial Water group, a division with global sales of 1 billion US $ with 3700 employees, manufacturing activities in USA, Europe and China and a sales organization covering over 100 countries. R&CW offers a large range of pumps, pumping systems and controls for the transportation and pressure boosting of water for various residential, commercial and industrial services, including fire-fighting. The R&CW products are mainly sold under the Lowara, Goulds Pumps and Bell & Gossett brands.
