ISH China 2006

15.12.2005

China International Trade Fair for Sanitation, Heating & Air-conditioning, will take place from 14 - 17 March 2006 in Beijing. The ISH China is a sourcing platform and forum for information and technical exchange.

ISH China, one of the leading international trade fairs for the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning sectors, will take place at the China International Exhibition Centre from 14 - 17 March 2006. A number of market-leading companies have already confirmed their attendance at the fair, as well as national pavilions from Germany and Denmark. The previous ISH China (2004) attracted over 14,000 trade visitors from the building and construction sector, with around 1,000 of the visitors coming from overseas.

ISH China has become an important sourcing platform for planners, architects, specifiers, engineers, property developers, contractors and other building industry practitioners seeking new products in the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning sectors.

In addition, the show functions as a forum for information and technical exchange; a place where industry professionals can meet and discuss technological developments, new policies affecting the construction industry, and other topics relevant to the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning sectors.

World Health Organization to attend ISH China 2006 to give overview of new plumbing guidelines

The World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva has confirmed that they will send a representative, Dr José Hueb from the Water, Sanitation and Health Office, to attend ISH China 2006.

The World Plumbing Council, a supporter of ISH worldwide, has worked closely with Dr Hueb in the drafting of the “Guidelines on Health Aspects of Plumbing”, known as GoHAP, which are now undergoing pre-release technical editing in Geneva.

The GoHAP was originally produced by the World Health Organization in 1982, and was revised in 1998 in co-operation with the World Plumbing Council (WPC), and the IAPMO Group acting as project co-ordinator (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials) on behalf of the WPC. The GoHAP contains a framework of guidelines which can be used by developing nations as they try to establish criteria for the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems. The resulting regulations, if implemented properly, ensure the safe conveyance of potable (safe drinking water) as well as the proper removal of sewage, thus providing sanitary conditions.

A number of academics and senior officials, including Dr. Hueb, will participate in an official press conference during ISH China 2006 to give further details of the GoHAP project.

World Plumbing Council / ISH Academy at ISH China 2006

A one-day technical seminar will be held alongside the trade fair on 16 March, organised by the World Plumbing Council, Plumbing Facilities Committee of China and Messe Frankfurt under the heading “WPC/ISH Academy”.

The seminar will cover various topics pertinent to the plumbing and water supply sector, including drainage and public health, water conservation and environmental protection, and global training in the water industry. The speaker panel will consist of around 12 experts in the field. Invited speakers include academics from universities in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia, the Hong Kong Water Supplies Dept., the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and the China Plumbing Committee.
