Wood Group ESP Opens New Pump Testing Facility
Wood Group ESP ("WGESP"), a subsidiary of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), has opened a new 14,000 square-foot facility in Quito, Ecuador dedicated to testing, repair and assembly of downhole electric submersible pumps and surface pumping systems.
WGESP initially invested in Ecuador two years ago and its first units were sold and installed in 2004. This new facility will increase Ecuadorian content in systems provided to local clients and accelerate equipment repair and delivery. In Latin America, in addition to the Quito plant, WGESP operates manufacturing and test facilities in Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil.
"Wood Group is committed to providing operators in Ecuador with the highest possible quality of service for all brands of electric submersible and surface pumping systems," said Daniel Fleitas, general manager of Wood Group de Ecuador, S.A. "The ability to test, repair and assemble equipment in-country will speed equipment turn-around and shorten production schedules."
