Pakistani Minister Pays KSB a Visit

18.04.2005

Last Thursday Pakistan's Minister for Industries and Production, Jahangir Khan Tareen, visited KSB in Frankenthal. The visit followed an invitation from Chairman of the KSB Board of Management Josef Gerstner who accompanied German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to Pakistan in October last year.

A tour of the Frankenthal plant left Tareen well informed on the latest research, development and production at KSB. Gerstner and Tareen then discussed prospects on the Pakistani market which, according to the Minister, currently shows a development of "historical dimension". Gerstner emphasized KSB's intention to intensify its activities in Pakistan, where infrastructure is at present the focus of large-scale investment.

Pakistan represents an important production location for KSB. The company set up a subsidiary as early as in 1959 which, with a staff of around 450, has been the market leader for pumps for many years. The production facility in Hassanabdal assembles pumps for the chemicals industry, for sugar and paper production and for water and waste water treatment.
