Lewis M. Kling New COO of Flowserve

Kling has more than 35 years of experience leading manufacturing operations, driving synergies and holding key management positions with large, global businesses, including General Electric Co., Harris Corp., AlliedSignal, General Signal Corp., and SPX Corp. At Flowserve, he will have full responsibility for the company's three operating divisions as well as the supply chain and continuous improvement functions.

Prior to joining Flowserve, Kling, 59, was employed by SPX for seven years, most recently serving as group president, corporate vice president and officer. Before that, he served as president of Dielectric Communications for General Signal, which was acquired by SPX in 1998. Prior to joining General Signal, Kling worked for three years with AlliedSignal Aerospace, where he served as senior vice president and general manager of Commercial Avionics Systems and chairman of the board of the American Russian Integrated Avionics JV. Before that, he worked for Harris for four years, where he served as vice president and general manager of its Electronic Systems Division. Kling began his career in Apollo Support (later, Simulation and Control Systems) at GE, where he served for 24 years in a number of manager positions, including programs, international marketing, engineering and manufacturing operations, simulation programs, and design engineering.

Kling holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Stetson University.
