Chinese Pump Manufacturer Looks for Sales Channels in Iraq
Shanghai Kaiquan Pump, one of the leading pump manufacturers in China, will join more than 1,000 suppliers from around the world to display products at a Kuwait trade show, which will center on reconstruction of Iraq.
The market estimated to be worth US$150 billion. Most of the major rebuilding projects in Iraq have been monopolized by big American conglomerates. And they are likely to sub-contract the projects to some European counterparts. However, Chinese participants are upbeat on the market potential as well as the competitive edge of their products.
More than 1,100 companies from 45 countries and regions have registered to participate in the Middle East fair which will cover an exhibition area of 12,000 square meters. Most of them are companies from the United States and Europe. The Chinese delegation will contain sixteen companies.
Shanghai Kaiquan Pump (Group) Co Ltd, one of the four Shanghai companies taking part in the exhibition and China's biggest pump manufacturer, is ready to try its luck in war-ravaged Iraq.
"Our products are used for construction and will be in high demand during Iraqi reconstruction," said Jiang Lan, an official with Kaiquan. "It's a good opportunity for us to test the market and establish trade channels there."
