Flowserve Hosts 8th Annual Process Equipment Consortium
Industrial thought leaders from across the U.S. gathered in Dallas for the 8th annual Process Equipment Consortium, which was hosted by Flowserve Corporation, a global supplier of fluid motion and control products and services.
The consortium, which was held September 24-25, brings industry leaders, customers and visionaries together to share new and emerging technologies and their practical application in the process industry relating to the fluid motion and control marketplace. More than 60 industry experts from Flowserve, Rockwell Automation, Honeywell, Dupont Dow Elastomers and a number of industry trade partners and government research organizations were in attendance.
The consortium has enabled a number of partnerships and joint ventures to access private and public funding to incubate new technologies for industry growth and cost savings. Past consortium activities have resulted in more than $10 million in funding for new projects such as condition data point monitoring, reduced friction coatings, oil filtration and intelligent products.
"This yearly event is an excellent forum to understand the future needs of customers, the influence of regulatory changes and the emerging technologies that will create new solutions for our customers," said John Jacko, corporate vice president of marketing and communications. "It is an opportunity to leverage resources toward common goals."
Presenters at the event examined topics such as business fitness during a changing economy, emerging energy efficiency regulations and
technologies, reducing customers' costs and next generation industry trends and products. More specific discussions on smart products, condition monitoring, asset management, total cost of ownership, and real world applications of energy reduction initiatives rounded out the two-day session.
"The consortium is a way to examine the industry as a whole, work together with our partners, and drive new strategies and services to revolutionize the way we do business with our customers," said Bill Adams, corporate director, new business development for Flowserve and the consortium organizer.
