Christopher Bartlett Elected to Flowserve Board of Directors

The Flowserve Corporation (NYSE:FLS) announced that Christopher Bartlett was elected to the corporation's board of directors, effective Jan. 1, 2003.

Bartlett, 57, previously served on the board of The Duriron Company, which merged with BW/IP to form Flowserve in 1997, from 1988 to 1993.

"Chris possesses a unique and valued perspective that makes him a strong addition to our board," said C. Scott Greer, Flowserve's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "His previous experience as a director on corporate boards, his hands-on experience as a consultant on international strategic and organizational issues, all in addition to his tenure as a professor at Harvard, will well serve Flowserve."

Since 1979, Bartlett has been a professor at Harvard University Business School. Concurrent with that role, he has consulted for many global corporations.

In addition to his current position on the board of directors for ResMed, a medical equipment company, Bartlett has served as a director of the Huffy Corporation, a diversified consumer products company; Genesis Technology, a start-up, high-tech healthcare firm; and Temple Barker and Sloane, a management consulting firm.

He earned a DBA in business administration from Harvard University in 1979, an MBA from Harvard in 1971 and a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of Queensland, Australia in 1964. With the addition of Bartlett, Flowserve's board of directors increases to 10 members.
