Carver Pump has been notified by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, Ingalls Operations, of Pascagoula , Mississippi of its intention to exercise its option for the fifth shipset of centrifugal pumps for the San Antonio Class (LPD-17) Dock Landing Ships.

This class of Navy ship is designed with its main mission to be transporting personnel, landing craft, and vehicles under early 21st century conflict scenarios. Delivery is expected to be completed by late 2004.
