Big Market Potential in China

China

In 2001, China spent USD 25 billion on importing environmental protection resource. For the first time in history, China‘s spending in sewage treatment exceeded that President of Water supply in 2000, while around USD 36 billion will be injected into sewage treatment in the coming 10 years. To attract foreign investment in this field, Chinese government at all levels will give 15% in return as policy incentive.

Guangdong

Guangdong Provincial Government will invest USD 18 billion in Water treatment during “Tenth-five Year Project”, equivalent to 2.5% of Guangdong GDP. USD 1 billion is planned to be used in drinking-water supply system which will benefit 10 million people in Guangdong by the end of 2005.

Guangzhou

Municipal Government will input USD 1 billion in treating pollution of Pearl River in the next five years. The establishment of four sewage treatment factories in Guangzhou will boost level of sewage treatment from current 30% to 70%, which is expected to come to 90% in 2010.

The Venue

Chinese Export Commodities Fairground (CECF) built in 1974 and covering an area of 170,000 m², is known as the largest fairground in China and has earned its fame for holding Chinese Export Commodities Fair (“Canton Fair”) every spring and autumn with some 8000 exhibitors each session.

The Fairground is considered as one of the best exhibition centers in this country. It was redecorated in autumn 2001 and is now suitable to big international trade fairs.

The partner for Water China, China International Sporting Goods Fair and CBD - China Building & Decoration Fair is the China Foreign Trade Centre Group, also the organizer of the Canton Fair.
